Very Strange Fish Caught in Burgeo Newfoundland

by GK on July 31, 2008

There has been a very strange fish caught off the coast of Burgeo, here in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

I’ve never seen anything like it. Does anybody know what it is?

Update Via Bond Papers: Identified.

Triplewart seadevil (Cryptopsaras couesii) – Pêcheur à trèfle, found frequently in the delta of the St. Lawrence Seaway, not far from Burgeo.
